Professional Lightning
Various projects created for studio lighting companies including Inverse Square Systems and Speedotron, Inc. The earlier work resulted in the first microprocessor-based electronic flash system, the Stroblox. This highly-modular product featured digital fine-graned control of both flash and constant illumination levels, interproduct light matching, automatic bracketing, sequencing and networking of multiple lighting units. While this product is no longer available, it kick-started an industry that mimics these features to this day. As a result of this product: Control Alt Design was asked first to modernize the venerable Speedotron flash head, resulting in the oft-photographed 202VF lamphead and derivatives. Based on the success of this product–Control Alt Design created the Force 10 monolight. Our favorite charity.
