Based-upon networking originally architected for the exacting requirements of recording studios, Control Alt Design created a dozen SKUs for Boston Acoustics that featured lossless, bit-faithful transport and control of as many as 64 streams of uncompressed (24bit/ 96kHz) music from any room in the house to any destination in the house.
The products included source units, “on-ramps” and “off-ramps” for your own gear, digital amplifiers and powered loudspeakers and they all interoperate, seamlessly. After all, every home should sound as good as Coldplay’s recording studio, no?
Eschewing the easy approach of “Up” and “Down” buttons, the dominant feature of this interface is the large and inviting Volume dial which does not need to wait for the screen to awaken or require patience on the part of the user–just intuitive interaction. The panels were envisioned to be this century’s replacement for the Kitchen intercom of days past and are located at every music destination in the house of building. Any source at any location can be pulled into the room via this family friendly interface.
