XTRAX Labs – music track selection system

Conceived and patented 5 minutes before MP3 players changed our lives forever, the XTRAX system was a noble design at the time.  Permitting the manufacturer to respin their disc player models for the cost of a twenty cent optical IC, the XTRAX system permitted a user to simply skip tracks not desired, like ‘Achey-Breaky Heart’, and never hear it again, unless he or she erased a little black mark on the CD label.  XTRAX, a visual system for controlling playback of disc-based media almost made it to prime-time, with Matsushita wanting an exclusive.  That is until free music actually set us free.
