Sleek and intuitive ergonomics, the design begs for one-handed use.  An involute molded thread form housing and a matching spring-loaded, ball-bearing collar enabled a 50 year-old line of existing reflectors to begin life anew as focusable devices.  The formerly 'fixed focus' reflectors now smoothly adjust lengthwise along the housing by rotating the elastomer collar.  This creates a variable light source from a tight and bright spot light to very broad flood.  Accomplished without any internal machinations.
